Devlog - 7: Art #2
Like yesterday, I've been catching up on some artistic stuff. I've been drawing new buildings mainly a wall, and a unit spawner for the player.
For the walls I've imagined them to be a special one-tile building that connects to other neighbouring walls.
I'm calling it a special building because it will have multiple patterns that can build it. Instead of just a 1x1 pattern, this will also support 1x2, 1x3 and 1x4, plus the inverse, so: 4x1, 3x1, 2x1 so you can build horizontally or vertically 4 at a time. There will still be a single building on each tile it will just behave a bit differently with patterns.
You will also be able to turn wall sections into gates, but I'll leave that for later when I actually make that functionality.
The other building I've been drawing is the unit spawner for the player:
This one is pretty standard like other buildings. It will also have a control in the middle to set a target for the units spawned here.
I'm also thinking of a control to spawn a number of units, but I might also simplify it with a control to turn spawning on or off. I want to keep it simple so just turning it on or off seems the best option.
That's it for this time, see you all tomorrow :)
